Toronto CyberTech Day - Hybrid Mesh Firewall Lab
Toronto CyberTech Day April 1st 2026 - Hybrid Mesh Firewall Lab Event
Project 'Meteor'
PseudoCo's project Meteor was created to modernise their firewall estate due to a proliferation of applications, the rise of AI technologies, and an increasingly mobile workforce which continues to expand the attack surface.
PseudoCo chose Cisco's Hybrid Mesh Firewall because it is a highly distributed security fabric managed under a single interface (Security Cloud Control) that protects applications no matter where they live. It makes it easy for them to reduce the attack surface, prevent compromise, and stop lateral movement in their data center, cloud, campus, and factory.
Project Meteor has been broken up into 3 key phases to reduce disruption to the workforce:
Phase 1 Network Zone Based Segmentation & DC Edge: Login to Cisco Security Cloud Control, onboard physical firewalls, create policy to identify applications, simplify branch connectivity and configure Policy Based Routing
Phase 2 Cloud Edge: Login to Cisco Security Cloud Control, enable cloud visibility, gather DNS flow logs, shared objects and setup tagging
Phase 3 Macro/Micro Segmentation: Login to Cisco Security Cloud Control and configure policy to protect application workloads
